Health discrepancies exist amongst people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). When health challenges lead to hospitalization for people with IDD, clinical and/or ethical dilemmas may arise. This empowering presentation will equip health providers in hospital settings with clinically and ethically relevant information related to people with IDD in order to improve care.

The Centre for Clinical Ethics (CCE) was established in 1982 to oversee the ethics needs of Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto) and St. Michael’s Hospital. They enable members of the health care community to identify and resolve ethical issues which arise in the clinical setting.
