Who is this for?
Anyone interested in learning more about compassionate care and reducing stigma surrounding opioid use in older adults.
Outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Recognize the clinical features, risk factors, and presentation of opioid use disorder in older adults, including how age-related physiological and psychosocial factors affect diagnosis.
Apply evidence-based approaches to the management of opioid use disorder in later life, including safe prescribing, tapering, and pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment options.
Integrate principles of compassionate, patient-centered, and interdisciplinary care to improve outcomes and reduce stigma in older adults receiving opioid therapy or OUD treatment.
