This program’s goal is to heighten your comfort level and competency in providing high-quality inclusive, affirming, welcoming, culturally-sensitive care. The learning will require approximately eight hours between February and August.

Who is this for?

Leader and staff champions who promote a learning culture and an inclusive environment. Note: The 2SLGBTQ+ Foundations course is eligible for 3.5 Mainpro+ credits.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Build their understanding of important 2SLGBTQ+ terminology.
Learn more about the health disparities faced by 2SLGBTQ+ people and the context of minority stress.
Learn how to increase capacity and to provide welcoming, friendly, professional, culturally competent services to 2SLGBTQ+ service users.
Learn how to enhance visibility and inclusion of 2SLGBTQ+ employees, volunteers, and services.

Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO), a program of Sherbourne Health, developed this course on Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (2SLGBTQ+) health for healthcare and social service providers to help build foundational knowledge for providing care to 2SLGBTQ+ people.
